The 6.8 is currently being tested out of a 24 inch bolt action prototype barrel, the caliber needs more work done on the ballistics before it can be fit into a realistic 20-or 16" barrel

yeah, but the AK gets the seal of approval for EVERYTHING... except bad construction(romanian AK knock-offs) and poor ammo (Wolf ammunition)...

NATO!!!!! Change your fucking round!!! The 5.56 sucks big time... I'm signing any petition to change every 5.56 caliber assault rifle in the world to a bigger caliber... you don't have to go for the 7.62x39, you stuck up bastards, change it to the 6.5x39 or the 6.8x43!!!!

In the fall of 2007 the army test fired the XM-8, FN SCAR, M4 and the HK416 in extreme dust conditions. With each firing 6000 rounds each, the XM8 had the least jams followed by the FN SCAR, the HK 416 and the M4 which had the most jams.

HK416 has been deployed in small numbers in Iraq. but it looks painful to hold it, round after round being shot

HK416 IS being used by some special forces, indonesia i believe :)
