Hmm, could be. But there's so much crap flying around about dragon skin (there's both dragon skin and interceptor supporters acting like their own armor is perfect), I can hardly sort any of it out. Time will tell. For now, all I can do is go with the current issue.

Just keep in mind, the U.S. will get better armor that doesn't cost a fortune more than the current type. It pays for them to keep us alive, our training is expensive. And I doubt we'd have armor at all if they were that cheap.

meaningless, useless... a weapon to defeat that armour will be deveoped sooner or later.. it's mankind nature... mankind is repulive...

yea i heard about an argument about that. but i remember reading some where ( i literally forgot i dont even have a link to prove it but i swear its true) that dragon skin was made several times and that they also made another version of this armor. that second version covered everything you mentioned above and was able to take shots from 45 degrees.

good thing about dragon skin is that it is made out of very flexible matrial so i personally think it wouldn't be a terrible idea to make things like thigh or shin guards except the soildiers then would have to face the extreme heat haha

Better under ideal conditions, maybe. They were supposedly tested brand new, laid flat, at room temperature, with straight shots. Obviously done wrong.

Word is that dragon skin suffers badly when exposed to high heat, physical abuse, and diesel fuel. I know, from my own time in Iraq, that those are real concerns. Also, dragon skin can weigh over 45 pounds, about 20 pounds more than interceptor armor. That's a big deal when you're running around in 150-degree weather. Interceptor was bad enough.
