No, I am talking about Lincoln Center. Sean is indeed lead trumpet. This, however, is not a soloist chair. The white guy you saw playing the solos is most likely Ryan Kisor.

are you talking about a band other than the jazz at lincoln center orchestra? cause i saw them about a month ago over here in california, and he was not playing lead... he was killin, but not playin lead. there was some white guy playing lead the whole night and he was wailin.

i am completely on ariactb's side. sean jones is a great trumpet player, but here he is just playing some really high simple licks, not listening, and just running his fingers over the valves in some places

That guy is Sean Jones. First trumpet in Wynton Marsalis's big band and professor of jazz studies at Duquesne University. I don't know what you're hearing, but he's playing beautifully.

just a minor correction here, he's not the lead player in wynton's band... nevertheless, it's no real big deal that he's playing high here. people who complain about his playing here are undoubtedly jealous at their own lack of range.

sean is an amazing player... forgive him for having a little bit of fun here jeez
