Curry Tabanca - Trinidad All Stars

Back

Perhaps the most popular panorama arrangement to have never won the competition - the 1987 ground breaking performance of Trini's Curry Tabanca, arranged by Leon 'Smooth' Edwards for the Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra. Listen for the seamless incorporation of East Indian Tassa instruments into the arrangement and the simulation of the tassa drums by the pan. Enjoy the excitement over and over again!

when i hear them practising on the track final night, tears came to my eyes, music just cant be that beautiful, after i went into the grand stand to watch the performance, those 4 phase 11 women supporters danced to their music, when phase 11 played after they just stood still, after they told me all stars won, but they should have told the judges

i remember in the prelims listening to them in the north stands their performance of a song that no one considered a panorama arrangement, and after they played a dumb rock rasta put his middle finger up at them , i cussed him bad , he was a phase 11 supporter

This just brought water to my eyes man. I was still in school. I saw this performance on TV and was just blown away!! All stars became my favourire band after this. It was just a damn tragedy that they didn't win! This was PERFECTLY PLAYED AND PERFORMED!!
