The Ukraine Air Show crash of a Russian SU-27 jet is considered the worst air show disaster in history.

The Ukraine air show disaster happened on August 7, 2002 in Lviv, Ukraine. A Russian made Sukhoi SU-27 fighter jet was performing a maneuver at low altitude when it clipped the ground and became a somersaulting fireball into spectators. Eighty five people were killed and over hundred spectators were injured during the crash. The pilots, who ejected to safety, were ruled at fault for the crash.

The pilot initiated a roll with insufficient altitude for recovery. He stalled and crashed. This is a common error; take a look at some of the many crash videos and you can see the same thing happen many times over. This is unfortunate and tragic.

It just goes to show how United States superior fighter pilots are trained. You don't see such accidents in the states. In the states we have such rules in place that don't put spectators at risk. Couple years ago a Blue Angel crashed but not above the crowd. Other then that I can't remember a spectator involved accident in the past decade. I'm not really sure that you should have to pay for something that your being taxed for to begin with anyhow. ???
