Soundtrack from Into the Wild - by Eddie Vedder. This is also a tribute to Christopher McCandless.

Based on a true story. After graduating from Emory University in 1992, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandoned his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters who shape his life.

I would disagree, That is how Penn depicted it, but in realism since he died alone, we don't know what delirium he was going through.

Ive seen the movie 1 week before my 1st post here, thats why Im telling u.

Life comes to the same way u know its gona be.

And he was so tired of "life", that he got into a relaxed way, not really caring about going through with big projects in mind.

So if ur not expecting neither have future plans in ur life, u get into that stage, and many things can happen.
