You can't speed run without nabbing the goods. Mario is a speed run game. You're supposed to go as fast as you can and grab as many coins as you can otherwise playing is just pointless.

Mario 2 & 3 where great but when this game came out it was awsome. It just seemed like it was everything Mario was meant to be. Especially the castles.

Back in the 90s this was a revolution for the gaming industry.
