You keep wanting to push the debate into an area of irrelevance; astrology is the topic here but you want to put science on trial because of some deep seated issues with the way mental health is addressed. Say what?!
Find another site deveoted to mental health and how it can be cured with astrology or whatever you believe.
If you want to debate whether astrology works, hang around and supply evidence in scientific terms. It really is that simple. Sidetracking the issue...cluck cluck.

Cool. Reason, science and pot. Do you really need anything else in life?

Oh please, what an argument. How can you not see that an archaic and unsupportable form of guessing people's futures and personalities based on the positioning of dots in the night sky is perfectly reasonable?
P.S., I'm just being sarcastic and I agree with you, astrology is silly. By the way, I LOVE Bill Nye.

When looking at the BS behind astrology I can't help but be reminded of the famous quote: "there is a sucker born every minute".

Great comment p101James! Have any other useless comments that you would like to throw my way?

Most predictive and personality work is done through a sidreal system, which does take into account the wobbling of the planet. Additionally, the sun's position is only one factor in these charts. All of the planets within the asteroid belt (going out as far as saturn) are used in these as well. (The outer planets are sometimes also used, but they don't vary much by people in teh same generation.)
Again, I can't speak for the validity of astrology, just pointing out there is more thanonetype

I won't debate the validity of astrology as a whole, but I just want to point out that this video debunks only the most popular type of astrology, tropical astrology (that's the type most newpapers use in their 'daily horoscopes).

Proof of science is simplistic - hard evidence or death. What happens to all those fields of human experience that do not conform but still pay well - my experience being mental health - many theories, inconclusive with many variables - if you have the right qualifications - very lucrative - and no hard science to back it.

Ghosts are myths and exist in the minds of people.
