Frank Sinatra - Stardust (1943)

Back

With some minor alterations, this is essentially the same arrangement of "Stardust" that Sinatra recorded with the Tommy Dorsey band in 1941. Here, Frank is accompanied by his cohorts from "Your Hit Parade," including conductor Mark Warnow. This public domain footage comes from the "Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco" promotional film (full movie available at www.archive.org).

My dad & mom loved this song. It was thier song. Pop won 25 grand at the Stardust in Vegas and opened a bar called the Stardust Room in the 60's. Changed our lives as he parlayed that into a couple of other cocktail lounges & restaurants.

Maybe you should put a limitation on your lifespan. Like, soon.
Why the fuck are you even watching this video, you clown? Did you get lost looking for a 50 Cent clip?

If only he hadn't smoked. Maybe he would not have lost the clear, bell-like quality to his voice.....

ah, he didn't give a shit. He said on a few occasions that he always thought his voice was too high, so I'm sure he was glad with the way it aged, ha. But I do love all the 30s/40s recordings. probably alot more than the capitol stuff. they had a great vibe... dreamlike...

Sinatra, 1943, a legend in the making. Wonderfully sung. Another great Hoagy Carmichael song. Thank you so much for posting.
