Russia's metro stations have become home to a generation of street children, who survive by begging or prostitution.

At first sight, 11 year old Yuriy and his 13 year old friend Max look like normal, happy children. But after family problems forced them to leave home, they've been reduced to living on the streets. "For me, the most dangerous thing about living on the street is paedophiles," states Max. "I know a lot of people who have been abused." Despite this risk, both boys would rather remain homeless than return to their families. Max and Yuriy are just two of the millions of children thought to be living on the streets. Once homeless, many children turn to glue sniffing and become infected with HIV. The issue of street children is a relatively new problem for Russia. The collapse of communism triggered many family breakdowns, driving children as young as seven onto the streets. The fear is that if something is not done to help them now, it may be too late to save future generations.

moscow has one of the most billionaires living in it, you tell me russias poor now. Children on street?that was maybe 40 years ago, now its not like that, we dont have children on street everywhere. Maffia?ok fine what about italy?i thought its from there? why everyone sayng russias full of maffia? its a stupid steriotype of russian most europeans have about russia from the early ages. Its the same with english steriotype such as chavs and shit like that, or americanfattys and ugly,i can go on.

i bet you speak from personal experience about selling of women. Also you must be a very undeducated person if you think that Russia is low class. How about its culture, history, science, etc? It's a big country with a lot of extremes.

Did that make you feel better 'Lex' (what a stupid poseur name!). Russia's economy is booming - they have been doing VERY well all things considered - is it perfect? Of course not but in 50-100 years time I know where I would rather live (were I still alive!).. Russia - a vast, powerful nation that is 99% White, where people are strong and honest or America a multi-racial hell-hole where the White people who founded and built the country have become a hated minority, full of crime & sleaze..

Grab the violin.. You wont even look at the arguments that the man is giving against the jews JUST IN CASE he is right! You have to be bigger than that - if something is a fact, even if it upsets you, you have to say "OK that is actually true" - this is the problem with the West, we are too sensitive to political correctness and think we are completley free in our thoughts - we are not, do you think a lifetime of exposure to the media & certain paradigms has no affect on you? Be more open minded
