This thing would really come in handy in Angola.

SA had so much potential. What a waste of a nation.

Rooibalk does not compare to AH-64:
1. The USA CAN afford to develop AH-64 (unfortunate but reality)
2. Rvlk is still not fully developed, Ingwe / Mokopa missiles not yet certified for use.
3. Rvlk main rotor system is from the Oryx which is from A330 Puma which is ancient!
Denel need to sort out their finances before they have any hope of selling these impressive machines.

Thats true, but for a small country like south africa to develop such an amazing piece of machinary is quite an achivement, i wonder where south africa would stand nowadays if things didnt turn out as they did 14 years ago.

Just because they're not 'NATO Certified LUGS' doesnt mean they not certified...
But the main question lies in the Rooivalks combat credentials, which are currently ZERO! the Apache has proved its worth time and time again in the middle east...although if you get the specs on both choppers up at the same time you realize they are pretty much the same, but the difference is in firepower not capabilities

Interesting fact. When the Redhawk was launched it was the only chopper capable of doing a "true" loop (Like you see fixed wing aircraft do). It might still be true today, but I've been out of touch with these things.

Saw the Rooivalk display at the Virginia Airshow this year, it is amazing for a home grown product! Especially considering the budget the chopper was built with!

Yep G5 and G6(Mobile variant) can hit a 1m square over 60km away. Don't know if the calculations are fully automated these days, but in the old days, the earth's rotation during flight time of the projectile was taken into account.
