Probably not, I for one am glad the French gave up, Paris is one of a few major European cities North of the Alps whose city center was not destroyed by wreckless bombing during the Second World War. Look at London, Rotterdam, Berlin, Hamburg, Warsaw, even Petersburg's outer suburbs and palaces were laid to waste by the Germans. Knowing when you are out numbered and out gunned has its priviledges, you get to live another day and plot your revenge, and get someone else to do the dying for you.
