The QE2, after of almost 40 years of service, was purchased by a state-owned company of Dubai and it is going to become a floating hotel at the famous Palm island. Just like the original Queen Mary ocean liner of 1936, which has become since 1967 a hotel at Long Beach, California. It will be changed internally to suit its new role as an hotel, but much of its original material and art will remain the same. Ship buffs are mourning, but at least it will be saved for next generations to see.

I'm working on making a similar model just to float. What did you use for ballast?

where did you buy that?
hobbyboy2794 (April 22, 2008 at 3:45 am)
If you bought that, can you tell me where. But if you made it yourself, that is a excellent job!!!
