YOu have to remember in the 1950's and 60's people didn't see color. They didn't have cars until 1970's everybody rode in covered wagons and walked through 5 foot of snow barefooted uphill both ways. The only ways to communicate were either with strings attached to cans or Morse Code.That is what my dad told me.

UK didn't ratify treaty till after the battle... they wanted to be sure since New Orleans is a Major Objective to control American west.. I assure you they wouldn't ratify if they got that prize... but then again I assure you the United States would have taken it back...even if it took 100 years...
Being Irish, Andrew Jackson was idolized in Ireland after the battle...
