Whats causing the flash of light if this bullet is propelled by magnetic forces?
jovicakluk (September 5, 2008 at 1:47 pm)
plasma

talk about speed im sure you could fire off 1 round every two hours this thing is perfect for fighting off barrages of people and armor

its a prototype...dumbass...

so what's the theory behind this gun?
wormyjgm (August 31, 2008 at 5:00 am)
it uses electro magnetism to propel the projectile down the rail. it requires a large surge in current, so a VERY large charge has to be stored. I think you can get about 4 km/s velocity with these things.

it dosent always requrie such a large charge does it that u need a ship or another large power source to use it right? a smal charge could propel a small slug a that speed theortically right? correct me if im wrong please
covepontin (August 29, 2008 at 5:05 am)
now my question is y did a aluminum slug react to the magnetic field. i understand the rail theory just not y a nonferrous metal was magnetized...
TheeGrandmaster (September 4, 2008 at 11:13 pm)
could have been part steel (front) and part Al (back)
disturbedone5009 (August 29, 2008 at 1:24 am)
sorry misread your comment. yeah it shot the rod but its aluminum not steel.
