Just reading thru many of these comments. I have to ask: why does it seem so many on here are so gung-ho to blow eachother out of the sky? Shouldn't it be the combat pilots themselves who should be shaking sticks at each other? MiG is magnificent plane, I also love the Tom Cat, the SR-71, and Harrier-each has their role; but I'm not about to say anyone should kill each other just to prove one plane is better than the other.

yes, to fly Russian aircraft pilots must make a very advanced training. And those of other nations that have used the mig 29 were not sufficiently trained to use this plane.

Ariu75 are you saying that only stronzate not c'entrano nothing. You're comparing 2 aircraft which have 20 years of difference.

Yes. This MiG was perhaps the most advanced multi-role fighter when it entered service. Some analyses claim that MiG 29 is even more superior than F-16 due to higher maneouvring capability.
The pilots of other countries that used this aircraft in combat did not have sufficient training.
What I mostly like in this show is the MUSIC. Could anyone tell me what's this music? Russian?

MiG 29 is equivalent to F16 Falcon.
Compared to F22 Raptor, MiG 29 introduced in 1982 IS A VERY MUCH OUTDATED AND USELESS TOY.

The Mig 29 with thrust vector and new cockpit isn't an outdated toy, it's one of the most maneuverable fighters in existence.....

MiG-29 is much more comparable to an F-18 or F-15, and due to the fact that the F-22 Raptor has something like a 100+ Million price tag alone for *just* its production cost (we offered it to the IDF for 200M and they flat out refused), it is, despite being ritzy, not the best choice for potential full-scale warfare with the world's other two superpowers.

29 is not "useless". If it's so, than why is the A-10 (Warthog) still in service. Most of our stuff is 60s/70s/80s tech just like Russia.

Regardless either way, by raw numbers there are also literally thousands more MiGs (the MiG-21 alone had 10000+ produced for the USSR,) than there are F-series jets of any comparable version.

In full-scale conventional warfare with Russia, our airforce will most likely be fully depleted way before theirs is, and it's why we have such a large thermonuclear arsenal and have Pershing-IIs and Tridents on our allies' in Western Europe- to stop a massive Russian tank invasion.
