bullshit the mig-29 is much better in maneuvering then the f-18 just look on that cheap video the F-18 always maneuvering and struggle when the mig-29 on his tail but when the F-18 on migs tail the pilot of the mig just says: "HEY YOU THE PILOT OF F-18 I WILL HOLD STEADY AND YOU SHOOT ME DOWN OK?"

America's BVR capabilities haven't been reduced at all. On the contrary the new AIM-120D BVR missile is scheduled to enter service next year on F-22 Raptors if I am not mistaken. The Phoenix, the F-14 missile wasn't really that special. It was just a VERY heavy missile (1,000lb's). The AIM-120D weighs almost a 3rd of that at 340lb's and still goes 30 miles (BVR is 20 miles).

The AIM-120D looks promising but remember Russia already has it's own counterparts as well...

Check out the R-27AE, the equivalent of the 120D it's a 130km, Active Radar son of a bitch.
The R-27EM is a SARH with a 110km range.

They're already deployed on the Su-30s and 33s and the newer MiG-35s and Su-35s will field them too.

Yeah I know their are better one's then the AIM-120D not arguing that was simply stating the fact though that the U.S. has really lost no ground. If your talking about the best BVR missile though I think that goes hands down to the currently in development British MBDA Meteor.

It will be if it ever gets finished and integrated onto a friggin' platform...

Their having trouble fielding it with the Eurofighter, and it's had some pretty shoddy performance in live-fire so far

They want it to be compatible with the F-35 but the problem is, is it's mainly a European-based missile designed to work with completely different avionics and guidance packages

"Mig-29 look so much like F15, since it was produced 10 years later so we can't say that F15 copycat Mig-29."

No one is saying the F-15 is a copy of any MiG ... the MiG is obviously influenced by this particular airframe configuration, twin-engine/twin-tail.

"Which aircraft is better can be decided by its marketability!"

Haha! By this definition, the Mirage fighters from France are contenders. The MiG-23 is the biggest winner of all! More of those than anything else. 5000+ made! Wiki.
