We went to Norway to interview Gaahl, lead singer of the band Gorgoroth. Gaahl really believes in this whole ideology behind what he's doing—he's not just some rockstar fronting a band. The thing with Black Metal is, in Norway, everybody is exactly the same. There's nothing to rebel against, because everybody's really well off. It's one of the richest countries in Europe. There is no lower class, it's like middle-class white kids everywhere—no one has anything to complain about. And he's this sort of eccentric figure amidst this sea of contentment and sameness. The way I see it is, in America you have guys like 50 Cent who are supposed to be the "villain." Kids like him cause they're parents hate him, and that's basically what Gaahl is. He's their musical villain so to speak. But there's a lot of different sides to the scene.

What I was really meaning was the individualism is the universal ideology of black metal, and from each individual comes different ideologies.

actually you agree w me, but you are limiting the individual thought, you cant come up here and say what right or wrong like a christian pseudo black metal, I've listen heavy metal since I was 8yo, now 30yo I lived , dome and seen things that you cant even imagine, a lot of people hate me for who I am,a treat to their egos,I left my mark in a whole town, nobody did what I've done and got away with it,this is the last I'm gonna say,I have a life and I cant spend it here in youtube.fu ck off now!

black metal isnt my favorite genre, im more into hardcore death metal and grindcore but i have to respect the talent of Gorgoroth, the guitar is crazy brutal, the drummer is a beast and a machine and the front man's vocal ability is crazy and unique, but there main focus is apparently their message, can someone plz tell me what their message is exactly?
