u know, i dont really like Israel, but u really have got to handed to them, this thing is a freaking BATTERING RAM, only reason hizballah took out so many of them is because they knew exactly where to hit, and with some pretty high tech Russian anti-tank weapons, because otherwise, this damn beast would of just rolled right through all the way to Beirut

That was because the Israelis rebuilt their whole doctrine around the "Bombard & Occupy" paradigm. It assumes that you can completely destroy the enemy's ability to fight from a distance (Bombard), then just roll in and take them prisoner (Occupy). The Israelis only did this because it was made popular by a freak success in Desert Storm.

If you simply dump lots of bombs on a (determined) enemy and idiotically barge straight in expecting them to give up, no amount of armor will save you.
