You were lucky. Hundreds of your comrades were not so lucky. Search for Iraqi tank graveyard on youtube, e.g. - that video also shows lots of busted Bradleys, M1A1/2 Abrams, Humvees and M109 Paladins ... all blown apart by IEDs or RPGs.

my company alone has hit at least 10 IED's this deployment so far guess how many were killed 0 and most of the IED's were not small. AT mines, Deep Buried's and one EFP.

I believe the number is correct, since I've seen so many burned out, exploded, rolled over and otherwise damaged Strykers ... and there are scores of videos on youtube showing Strykers busted by IEDs. It's just a shitty armored car, made in Canada, with tires from the french company MICHELIN, and fried Americans inside.

I bet you numbers are a little off 500 soldiers have not died in strykers they were killed after they dismounted the truck.

Why yes we have 2 trucks with the mk19 and 2 trucks with the M2 .50 it dosent slow it down at all. i dont know where the hell you got that from. If it can get a 26 ton truck moving at 60 mph you think a MK-19 shooting is going to slow it down at all.

Mate , Im not sure if I read your comment correctly. Are you saying that the recoil from a MK19 40mm is powerful enough to stop an armoured vehicle. I have fired a long burst from a landrover and even that wasnt affected by the recoil

well the best way to save ur ass is to get the fuck out of iraq

The only reason your safe at home and have the freedom to say that is because "Rough men Do Violence on your behalf." So just be thankful and let the men who do the killing and dying worry about that stuff.

I think u forget that the USMC use LAV25s.

Despite it's many "flaws" US soldiers love these things. One thing you have to understand is that there is no such thing as the perfect vehicle and there never will be. What really matters is if they can operate effectively in a combined arms force and the Strykers have proved all the nay-sayers wrong in very much the same way the Bradley and the Abrams have done. Both of the afore mentioned vehicles were magnets for harsh critism until the Gulf war then all the critics shut up. I wonder why?
