You got to take more into account than just the mere theoretical cruise speed of a transport means. Like capacity, availability, reliability, sustainability and the ability to securely and actually deliver the payload where it's needed (air-fields may not be readily available in places, or be bombarded by the enemy). If you consider all that, high-speed transport ships come into play. They're also cheaper to operate, and would provide the troops landing at any site with all they could ever wish

The philosophy of the Russian army is very different - they're just a defensive force and not planning to deploy to other continents. So they can fight their wars WWII-style, with a clearly defined front-line and secure back-areas. Which just isn't the case in the wars the US is involved now and will be involved in the future.

Uhm, you do know Russia and many nations still use man operated howitzers like these... They use regular howitzers for when they need bulk fire power, not crew protection (ie when they have complete domination like Chechnya , Iraq)

No matter where it's from, it's towed and manually adjusted, aimed and fired by a crew exposed to enemy fire, smoke, grenades and shrapnel as well as radioactive fallout !

All the US wheeled cars like stryker, Humvee, MRAPs etc. etc. would hopelessly get stuck in the Russian mud. And if they travelled on-road, ambushes, mines and enemy fire would blow them to pieces. The Russians got vehicles which can go x-country anywhere anytime at will, avoiding ambushes, mines, IEDs and surprising the enemy from the back.

All the equipment the Russians got is generally more mobile than western equivalents - just compare a Stryker to a Russian BMP: It can go to places the Stryker can't even dream of. Another great plus of Russian stuff: It requires much less maintenance thru its robust and simple construction, and if broken can be fixed on the spot by any car mechanic, often without original spare parts. So the Russians require much less transport, supply and maintenance units than western armies do.

who cares about that? a one on one with a western country agains russia like US and russia will soon be licking the western country like US's dick. Hard. And Fast. But russia is so ugly that it will take atleast 2 weeks for US to cum.and i heard this really lame joke. Why is santa's sack so big? Because he only cums once a year.
