Since the poster of this video hasn't responded, I'll give you my guess and say it was either 1986 or 1987. He looks like he did when I saw him in concert, that's why I'm guessing that time frame.

omg this is the the best live performance i am simply speechless.luther is forever a legacy it takes not only courage but talent to sing so good live.i hav loved luther since i was like 5 although i was too young to know what the songs meant i just loved and voice and still do and always will.luther voice is unique their will anyone better in my book.rip sir i miss u and love u

the fact that this song is being sung live, adds to the spectacularness of this mans voice. that ability, that raw ability that so many legends were blessed with has for some reason taken a backseat to showmanship.

i do enjoy a few choice cuts from the artists of today, but unfortunately the ones that are really make bank are mostly inhibited hacks, working a niche sound, and usually last barely two albums.
