I don't think that was an ak-47 he picked up. It looks like one of the guys that was helping to carry the wounded out dropped his m16 to help carry and the guy picked it up for him. Still...that guy that ran out sure acted like an insurgent and they had that pistol.

It's painfully obvious that the bus is full of insurgents. Case in point: the guy that runs towards the shooting Marines. There's only one reason why you'd run at the guys shooting at you. He was probably a suicide bomber. Even more telling was the presence of a weapon. If this was a bus full of civilians headed towards a known military position, they shouldn't have had weapons. The presence of ANY weapons strongly suggests that they had malicious intent.

i dont know for sure but i think they're suppose to gather fallen weapons if they can so the enemy doesn't collect and reuse them.
