try on a hill

Hills cause global warming. Since you will be working harder to pedal you will be breathing harder and thus releasing more carbon dioxide emissions. If you cannot avoid hills you should put a plastic bag over your head to trap the greenhouse gasses. Speaking of which, overweight people should have themselves checked regularly at emissions control stations to make sure their breathing is within acceptable environmental regulations.

not to mention cow-like methane output, which is something a more inflammatory greenhouse gas, by something like 2000 percent.

Ever heard of a foot powered ambulance? It's called a stretcher.
Maybe I'm crazy but I bet you'd prefer a pedal power to that.

no way!
a pedal ambulance has all the disadvantages of a stretcher (small load, slow etc) but with out any of the advantages (small, light, portable and able to be moved over very rough terrain)
