My cousin & I LOVED this song growing up til she got married abt 9 yrs ago & then she told me this song aint so great now that shes a married woman. Aint nothing romantic about it! Sad thing is 2 yrs ago her husband did cheat & leave her for some no good trick!I feel so bad 4 her bc she was a good wife & has a big heart.They have 3 kids & he left 2 get a younger "prettier" model that it made him feel proud 2 b seen with!JERK!I wanted to rip off his testicles with my hands when I heard this!

i went through the same issue, but i was the "other woman" and didnt know all those times he was still married.this song relates to my issue a whole lot and i love this song cuz of it.

I was 14 when this song came out and her VOICE spoke to my heart. When I listened to the lyrics, I thought...that's how a woman be. Pride & respect in herself. This is the first time I've looked for & found a sound bite. Thank you for this posting! This song always gives me chills b/c of her amazing voice & passion.

well, keishaj28 just know that GOD is in total control, not you, him, or the soon to be ex. I don't know about you but I am a firm believer of what goes around, comes around, and sometimes as far as paying people back for what they've done, just trust and leave it up to GOD because don't nobody give a betta ass kicking than he do. In my opinion, and I love lil' mo I all three of her albums, she ruined perfectly good song. Lil mo tends to over sing and it works for her on most occasions it works for her... just not on a classic song like this. Shirley is so underrated... a woman with a gift like hers soon have had one of the biggest careers ever!!!
