Don't cathegorize people, everything is possible. What is important is how hard you practice, how much time you put in it. Edith Piaf started on the street and she was serious enough. Open your snobish mind.

Edith Piaf was a pop singer, not a classical vocalist. Pop artists can usually get a break because theyre the only ones who are of main focus during a performance. And while they sound decent by themselves, in most cases their talent doesnt allow them to perform adequately with the same instrument or voice type.

I deal with this stuff all the time. Open my snobbish mind? Go fuck yourself.

What you are saying is so wrong. You are so incompetent for saying that. The best classical musicians are the one who are open to other kind of music. Music is music, and talent is found not only in classical music !I've seen amazing pop and classical musicans on the street that are more talented then you ever gonna be . You are so snobbish and closed minded.

You both are being a little uppity. But I am inclined to agree with you. Maybe even 100%. For instance if you listen to Thomas Quasthoff to Schumann he is a MASTER. But if you want to see something amazing listen to him sing jazz! He scats awesomely. That said Kelly Clarkson trying to sing Schubert for the Pope was embarrassing.

I find her singing rather embarrassing regardless of song. Though I hope we aren't holding her up as a classical style singer...

well I meant its a recording of this performance by Hakan.. trying to play it myself now, but I don't have a piccolo trumpet XD
