I thought that it was Taekkyon that came before Taekwondo and Taekwondo was born out of Taekkyon? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Typical way of lying.
There's no record of anciant Korean martial arts. Tae-kon do founders were the student of sho-to-kan Karate.
I respect Oyama(kyokushin founder, Korean Japanese), because he was strong, and honest.

lapesnamas-san, I don't blame on you, but just want you to understand "Hapkido" is just a Korean pronounciation of Aikido(合気道). If Hapkido masters teach it as a Aikido-based martial art, I don't feel being insulted, but they shamelesly insist Hapkido is an ancient Korean martial art, which has never been exist.
Tae-kon do is also new, it's obvious if you look at its Katas, which are dark copy of Karate's.

There is no best martial art, just the one that suits you best. The person makes the art not the other way around.

I myself is training Taekwondo. I have a question about Martial art.
Whats the best Martial arts to train? I mean there is alot, Hapido, Karate, Taekwondo, Aikido, Jujustsu...
I've always wanted to know it.

Seems like you think Hapkido is an insult because it's an Aikido ripoff. This is wrong. Perhaps you should study the history of Aikido?
Both Hapkido and Aikido are based on Jujutsu, and developed separately. And of these two ripoffs, I chose Hapkido, This because unlike Aikdo, Hapkido has evolved into something great(imo). I quit Aikido to start at Hapkido, and I've never looked back.

jaikido i have a question for u . Isnt hapkido just a mix of Korean tkd and Japans aikido ? and i heard that it was created not because Koreans love to steal from Japanese but because they wanted to have a martial art that could have good kicks and also some of ground techniques (btw i m not from Korea and i m not defending hapkido just because i love my country)
Jaikido1000 (November 17, 2008 at 8:38 am)
Yes they are different because Koreans add someting on Aikido, change the name, insist it's origin.
But belive me Hapkido is just Korean's pronounciation of Aikido(合気道).
It's a insult to aikido founders, masters and students. I guess their shameless stealing is from their anti-Japan movenent.

This is what is called 'Lie'.
Koreans tend to steal Japan's budos, add something and change their name. I guess that's because Korea's anti-Japan movement.
Hapkido is Korean way of pronounciation of Japanese "合気道(aikido)".
For us, Japanese aikido students, Hapkido looks just a insult to aikido founders and masters.
by the way, Japanese ppl don't tell a lie about Karate's origin. Karate derives from China ages ago. "Kara" is the name of anciant China.
