It would have been brave to stop, but you have to look from the soldiers point of view, there surrounded by fire, they want to get home and see their families. They couldve had plenty of rpgs and just blew up the whole convoy

No kidding, I just came back from Balad, these guys know the risks. It's a numbers game, why stop and get the whole convoy killed. Protocol? This idiot has no clue what he's talking about. He ought to be thanking the Lord he's still alive. Most of the KBR guys that I talked to know the risks and wouldn't come back and dis the military. They are getting paid nearly quadruple what we were being paid, I have no sympathy for them.

The Protocol Is to NOT STOP. I have been to Iraq, The Number one rule when running convoys is to never stop. You could stop, But you would lose more men.

You still return fire. They didn't do didly squat but flee. And they were the one who were supposed to know where they were going.
