This is so much bullshit propaganda. I lived there from 2001 to 2005.
The college students were upset with Aristide (who I met) that they protested in the streets. Aristide couldn't have that so he payed gangs from Citie solie to kill them. Thats it people.
The UN (who I dont have much faith in) only came in under PRESSURE to stop the violence, They didn't want to be there.... I just in October 2008 was in Haiti and it's very calm now....SO KISS my ASS YOU LIBERAL LIEING ASSHOLES.

you are 100% correct. the government is so corrupt and the gangs are the bulldogs who keep everyone else in check, it shows too. when i do migrant ops around haiti there is always the people who lay low and the people who steal what ever they can from who ever, including infants. as for the famous UN they are all pieces of corrupt shit with no purpose other than making money. if you can, look up "executive outcomes" and see how the UN let the genicides in africa happen. in the early 90's

I agree with your Africa comment. They stood by while all those people were slaughtered in Rawanda. The problems with the UN is it's a political body with so many members it's hard to get them to agree on courses of action to take in a timely matter to prevent these horrble things from happening.
And I apologize to all for some of my harsh comments, I have alot of friends in the 3rd world and can get fired up when mixed with alcohol :)

I lived and worked in Haiti from January 2002 to the end of 2004, so I was there when the shit went down.
The biggest thing holding back Haiti is the fact that there governments have always been corrupt. They also need to better educate there children, school in Haiti is not free and it needs to be as the people can barely afford to eat.
There also might be some cultural problems, when you have opposite political parties that disagree they kill each other Instead of talking they use violence.
