Draco Ate One of These, Are they edible? ~

Back

PeterAppleseed found the creature and wants to know if you can identify it. His pal, Draco did not eat it, but I'm sure the thought crossed his mind.

Someone said it is a whipworm? Is it? SOmeone else said it's a horsehair worm: also called hairworm , or gordian worm any of the approximately 250 to 300 species of the class Nematomorpha, or Gordiacea (phylum Aschelminthes).

it looks like a horsehair worm. They usually live inside of insects and very small mammals. They can control them through their nervous system as larve, as adults they can be free living, usually praying on insects. If a human were to injest one it would most likely try to wriggle out, prefering a smaller host.
