ok so this song, which is one of my fav all time gwen stefani songs, is about her past relationship with TOny Kanal (from no doubt whom she dated for a while.) The "new gf" in this video is his REAL LIFE gf Erin Lokitz. The song is about moving on to a new relationship but still remainging very good friends with the ex.

i know they're cool and everything but its still kind of sad, the flash backs show they're one of those few couples with a passioned love and it's sad that its over. oh and gwen looks super pretty with the short blond hair, red lipstick and blue shirt.
