This makes me mad!!! On the Berlin Concert cd, they cut out the trumpet solo. The cut happens at 1:55 on the GW on the cd. It sounded weird to me, but I didn't realize they actually cut it. How frustrating!!! Why? Was it because they were changing tapes or something? The video also cuts, and I guess it cuts to the middle of trumpet solo, so maybe they just left it out for that reason.

Only a true musician could understand the effort in this, weather it is the effort to look effortless, or sound effortless. It's just amazing. Everytime I go back to watch one these videos, weather it's Charles Parker, Eric Dolphy, or Lester Young, it blows my mind.

George Joyner on bass. Check out Eric Dolphy - The Berlin Concerts, it's outstanding.
