Honestly I think with our two wars we may have to start buying European fighters because our stuff is so whored out and worn out. It will just be left to rot in the desert over there.

MiG-29 was made to compete with F-16. 29's medium range missile, R-77 goes faster than Mach 4, and has a range of 175 km. F-16's AIM-120 missile goes up to Mach 4 and has a range of 180km. So MiG-29's missile is faster, but has a little bit shorter range. As of avionics... 29 has Zhuk-M radar with detection range of up to 120 km with up to 10 targets tracked and 4 attacked at once in air to air mode. Cockpit enhanced HOTAS design, 2 colour liquid-crystal MFDs and 2 smaller monochrome LCDs.
