Ladybird Johnson was the major shareholder in Brown annd Root; a construction company that built Cam Rahn Bay and much else iin Vietnam. Brown and Root is a Haliburton company. Dick Cheney is just carrying on a tradition that goes back decades.

There is a difference between escalation and invasion which you clearly don't understand. Hiltler waged invaded without provocation and staged the 'attack' of Poland by taking a criminal, suiting him up as a Polish soldier and shooting him. US soldiers were already fighting and dying in Vietnam to begin with. There was ONE attack on a destroyer and the other attack didn't happen. They were right once and wrong once if you kept watching the film.

You do know that LBJ was pretty much carrying out JFK's administration right? No matter who was president, we would've waged the Vietnam War. The coup on President Diem which was helped by JFK will tell you that.

Not necessarily. Even if Kennedy wasn't going to pull the US out, there's no guarantee he would have escalated it.

Kennedy had said he would not let Vietnam become America's war, and that regardless of what support the US provided, in the end it had to be the Vietnamese who did the fighting because it was their war.

My uncle volunteered and proudly served in Vietnam only to be used as a guinea pig for Agent Orange and to come back a junkie! So fuck this piece of shit government! I wish I believed in Hell so I could take some sort of comfort that they'd all be there!

Well, he does admit some of the lies, but he also holds some stuff back, like when he says he can't remember if he authorized the use of agent orange, or when he says he feels responsible for the assassination South Vietnam's president Diem. Of course he feels responsible. He was one of the one of the ones who planned it.

Well he and Kennedy didn't want the SV generals to kill Diem, but they wanted him out of power so they could take control of SV more than what Diem was allowing them.
