Don't get me wrong. I love all accents. I even like Rupert's accent. I was just trying to make the point that you guys use filler words too, but we're the ones who get stereotyped for it. The difference is that "sort of" is your filler word/phrase, whereas "like" is are general filler word. But I have also heard some English people use "like" like we do. People in northern England have the wierdest/coolest accents ever. I'm surprised that you aren't bored of American accents.

I would be bored of them if I were you because you must hear them all the time. I've only heard two English accents in person in my entire life. The rest of them I heard on TV or in movies (some of those ones are fake anyway).

oh yeahyeah everyone uses them! my brother always winds me up for the way i talk, mainly 'cos i say "right" and stuff alot :L argh i hate most english accents haha, i've been to america a few times now and everytime an american talks to me im like aahh i wanna talk like that!

I like my accent in some ways, but in other ways I don't. I like that it's considered to be a "neutral" American accent so no one makes fun of me for it. But at the same time I get tired of it. I'd rather have an interesting accent like a Boston accent or a Chicago accent. If you want to speak like an American, just remember, it's like a strange combination of an Irish accent and an Australian accent...
ChuckieDeG (October 24, 2008 at 1:14 pm)
...We pronounce are "r's" at the end of words like the Irish (think of how we say "car" or "fire"), and we pronounce are "t's" in the middle of words and do other things like Aussies (think of how we say "Harry Potter" if you don't understand).

You obviously didn't pay attention to what I wrote.

Take a listen to the interview with Bonnie Wright, she says "like" five hundred times! I couldn't finish the interview because iof it. It just...annoyed me too much.
