Not the first time this has been done, Mr Clean has an ad where they pressure wash or re paint a pedestian crossing white line block and add a picture of Mr Clean. so you can see the contrast. similar ads made be crest and other cleaning brands. Never seen an "art" appeal to it.

it's not graffiti but ya they are fuckin w/ it's naming. Turning it into some true hippy shit not just hipsters anymore! LoL. Not that the message isn't good. It just shouldn't be called reverse graffiti.

Not bad for what is an advertisement for a cleaning solution! Think 500K people would watch this is they had been hyping the Green Works the whole way through ala a Mr Clean commercial? I don't think so-the ad game is changing!

dickdelux - Hah. I didn't even notice that bit but you're right. Now i get why the vid gave off a feeling of being "over done" if that makes sense.

Ya know, I really don't care that this is a "commercial" for Green Works. As an artist, I think that this is a brilliant idea. I would love to see more artists make a statement like this, personally.

I love this trend (see Orion for some amazing stuff) but I feel this dude could make a much more elegant point if he didn't pontificate about it so much. As to the technique not being "graffiti"; it isn't just like charcoal aren't oil pastels. This reminds me of ancient cave art rubbing techniques or landscape dirt/rock scrapings.
