The difference being that Joe Tex could actually sing not just yell and holler.

I still love this song after all these years, so many kids today think "sexy lyrics" mean "blatant lyrics," leaving nothing to the imagination. I GOTCHA is proof that "sexy," doesn't mean "in your face," it's what's implied. This is one sexy song!

"I know, opinions are like A-holes, everybody's got one" but my opinion is, that Joe was the man. As much as I liked James Brown, James wasn't worthy of sharing the same stage with Joe. Well, not really and I don't want to seem harsh toward James, but I think that Joe did a better job at "gettin' it"

Sleep well, Joe. You too, James!

The one thing I liked about Joe Tex was that he always had a good horn section who's sound in my opinion laid the foundation for Oakland's Tower Of Power.

I might have to track down an IKE/TINA TURNER version. No idea they did it, but I am guessing it still sounds funky since that was the 70's. I'm sure the artist/song I am thinking of back in the 80's and it was a new song at the time. Someone said it is DEF JEF but it was before the Fresh Prince era of rap.
