Lightfoot was (is) an artist of the highest degree in my opinion. Guys like him and Croce just have no equals.

Well i am not so sure about the no equal part, but he is terrific and since we are talking about singer song writers you can't leave out Harry Chapin

Definitely let's not leave out Harry! Fabulous songwriter! Remember "Mr Tanner" "Flowers are Red" and "30,000 lbs of bananas!"

Of course, the radio stations are stuck on one song ("cradle")
It's just like Croce. The man had a zillion tunes that were absolutely amazing (wrote 'em in his outhouse, he confessed) And yet, all they play are two or three at most.

I remeber this being on the radio driving home from the drive-in theater in 1975.

Do you have the footage of Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show that Gordon Lightfoot speaks of at the beginning?

He is officially one of my favorite songwriters.
