ABSTRACT
The World Energy Council has estimated the 'useful' global ocean wave energy resource as 2TW (17,500TWh/year). From this it has been estimated (Thorpe 1999) that the practical economic contribution from wave energy converters could be 2,000TWh/year (similar to current installed nuclear or hydroelectric generation capacity). Such generating capacity could result in up to 2 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions being displaced from fossil fuel generation per year - similar to current emissions from electricity generation in the US.

Formed in 1998, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Ocean Power Delivery Ltd has developed the 'Pelamis' wave energy converter...

This is going to be a disaster type of technology....Mark my words. I bet money there is goig to be some sort of effect on the ocean with this technology. The electricity will heat the water, coral will die, and then fishes that live in coral will die....big chain reaction. Also there are fluids that are in the prototypes. If there is a leak, guess what....MORE WATER POLLUTION.

Really great video. Love to learn more about the company and where they use this new technology.
I always believed that the Ocean has an enormous

and all that technologies are not deplyed yet because of the big providers of energy in the world today, the petroleum companies... they have a lot of interests involved and not only them, entire countries....

when the world energy be free, theres no problem with overpopulation, because you can use all the free energy to bring water from the oceans, desalinate it, and make farms in all the deserts of the world. free energy is the next step in the human economic evolution...

The laws of thermodynamics are not a joke. There's no free lunch. Don't confuse "free energy" scams with renewable energy.

if global warming is an emergency, why aren't these machines being deployed throughout the world immediately

And where are all the more frequent & more powerful hurricanes? And why haven't temps increased since 2004? And why did temps peak in 1998? And why were there temp increases like this before the industrial revolution? And if temps do increase, nothing we do is going to stop it, because if it really is "climate change," something like that is far too drastic to affect by driving a hybrid & switching to CFL lightbulbs, or anything else we could ever think of. Move to higher ground, & go north.

exactly! we need these technologies deployed NOW! check out electromagnetic energy and Nicola Tesla. However, keep this in mind, even if energy was FREE to all, would people continue to overpopulate? YES. And how to feed the bellies of a 6.6 billion population and growing?
