9mm has a bad rep because of FMJ. Premium HP stuff is more than enough to drop someone. Lower recoil, higher capacity, and premium JHP (SXT,Gold dots, HSTs) is plenty enough.

If that's his logic, then why is the .223 round so effective and still used by the Pentagon?

The 9mm round is plenty to stop anyone in a non-PCP drugged out state, especially a hollow point.

It many cases it isn't effective. And the only time it is is when it still has that higher speed.

9mm to center mass is just as efficient as a .45, don't let the BS and hype fool you, there are a shit load of people not breathing anymore because of a 9mm. Glock for life... literally.

Being hit with a .22, 9mm, or 45 is lethal. The issue is stopping the person from retaliating.

I agree. A 9mm with the right JHP ammo will do the job
