Glen Campbell - Wichita Lineman

Back

I'm not a big Glen Campbell fan but I've always liked this song. Performed live on the Smothers Brothers show.

What was the name of the guy that wrote most of these songs? I forgot. I think it was Warner or something.

Yes he wrote McArthur Park. Thank you for mentioning some of the great songwriters of all time

Might that paintwork been done by The Fool Collective? I know they were one of a few at the forefront of hippie/psychedelic graphic design work in the late '60's, but they were pretty strong in Great Britain and Europe. It could've been one of the artists either in the U.S.( New York or California (San Francisco in particular, but I'm not sure - I kind of doubt it). Maybe it was one of Peter Brown's friends!

Yes, that's right. Jack played a Fender baritone in the early days of Cream. I read that a famous artist gave it a "psychedelic" paint job for him that took to long to dry. It was sticking to his shirt so he bought the Gibson EB-3 bass as a replacement. Good call.

I thought it was a Fender Bass!! Good Lookin' Out satorres82!!

It looked real familiar because I remember seeing Jack Bruce (on old videos) play a Fender six-string bass when he was with The Cream!

Thanks Again!

It's called a Fender bass VI. It's what they call a baritone guitar, tuned one octave lower then a regular six string guitar and one octave higher then a standard four string bass guitar.
