Read a book? Read a book? What you are saying is the regular Democrat talking points that anyone can find on DailyKos,CNN, or the ever unreliable Wikipedia.
I really didn't think that 17 foiled terror plots could sound bad to someone but anything is possible with liberals, I suppose.
I'm pretty sure what you're worried about is not so much that the administration just wants to see people tortured, but more that you care about the U.S's image throughout the world.
Am I close?

No, you are not close.

So your expert analysis tells you that the reason Guantanamo exists is because the administration likes to know that innocent people suffer, right?
If you believe that, then you are not just a liberal douche, but a stupid, naive liberal douche.

What are you talking about?

Please watch "Guantanamo and the Nation`s Narrative". It's a university discussion about Guantanamo. Speaker Professor of Law Richard Wilson talks about the implications the use of the term Enemy Combatant.

Great logic. Can you sense my sarcasm? Other homeland security safeguards were set up in addition to Gitmo--you ever think they might have a role in preventing major attacks? Besides, any intelligence professional knows that EITs DO NOT WORK. These are not "harmless" tactics. We base GITMO proceedures off SERE but SERE is a training process. When its all over, the personel know they would make it. For the GITMO detainees (some of whom are innocent) its a never-ending hell that builds vengance.

I just made an interesting calculation. If we double Guantanamo every year, the entire U.S. population will be in Guantanamo by 2029. Let's not wait until then!

It depends on the kind of America you want.
You can not hold 100s of innocent people including some children in a camp for 5 years with out access to lawyers or a fair trial.. its simply WRONG.
GITMO has turned many people against the USA, it is used in propaganda videos to incite people into acts of terror. GITMO does not work.

Agreed.. GITMO is a very bad stain on Americas record. And i find it disgusting the way someone like Romney talks and the way hes cheered.

The intelligence community has admitted to using rough interrogation on 30 prisoners but has only published 17 foiled plots. Don't you sense the inequity in the numbers? Plus, in every one of the attempted attacks, they claim surveillance was the real gangbuster.
Man, go read a book.
