Not only does The Bill of Rights not apply to these criminals the Geneva Convention also does not apply because these guys are not uniformed soldiers. These guys should be drawn & quartered and their remains fed to hogs. You really want to win this thing? If we are to win; there is going to be a need to kill these guys in droves. If we have not the stomach for it then they will win and those of us allowed to live will be their slaves.

You are the one that is in need of mental help, how do you know they are innocents? How do you go about separating pepper from fly shit? I'm not particularly interested with establishing guilt in accordance with Western legal standards. The vast majority of these psychopathic, terrorist & criminal types are up to their necks in Al Qaeda, Taliban extremism. I seriously doubt that American soldiers are seeking out innocent camel jockeys to be sent to Gitmo.

By the way you seem to be quite enamored by the Muslim crazies, why don't you move to that part of the Pakistan /Afghanistan border region and help them set up a proper legal system? You know, one that's in accordance with international law. I'll stay here in New York and count the minutes it takes for them to decapitate you after you have arrived on their soil.

What's stopping them from locking up a US citizen who left his ID at home and declaring them a enemy combatant other than their word?

How many decades is acceptable to hold that person?

The only "Real legal system" these people respect is Sharia. If you think Gitmo is that bad how would you like to be one of their captives? Does the Hotel Decapitation sound like a viable alternative to Gitmo? I think Gitmo is too soft on these filthy vial creatures. They should be shot & left in a ditch in Afghanistan to rot. Allah would most assuredly approve.

how do you know they are "filthy" (i think you mean "vile") creatures without a trial? BTW - is what you are saying any better than the terrorists? Shoot "them" without a trial and leave them in a ditch? You are anti-American. Move to Saudi Arabia where they have martial law, loser. Read a constitution once in a while and realize why this country is GREAT.

The Bill Of Rights most assuredly does not apply to captured enemy combatants. Would you seriously convey the same rights of American citizens to these dirtbags? After Germany surrendered in WW2 some of the Germans continued to fight guerilla style, when these guys were captured they were usually hung the next day. Un-American? I think not! Shot em all let Allah sort through the mess.

I want to win the war - what has Gitmo done to help? What is the difference between putting them through a real legal system?

If you want to live in China, go move there. Gitmo is a symbol of what is bad about this war. International law is still important to us.

These dirtbags are not entitled to a "real legal system." Like it or not The Bill of Rights was not meant to be extended to foreign terrorists and indeed should not be. And I don't believe for one second you want to see victory in this war as long as a Republican Administration prosecutes it. Democrats need defeat and are actively working toward it. Where would you keep these animals? The Waldorf Astoria?
