AaronzVoice - take a look at the Yamaha Pacifica. You can pick one up for just over £100 and they are really solid well-built guitars with reasonable action that don't go out of tune. Lots of music schools in the UK use them for that reason and because they are amazing value

Alright, I have owned an Epiphone Les Paul and currently own an Ace Frehley signature Gibson Les Paul. I sold the Epiphone simply because it played like crap. My Gibson i currently have plays like gold and it sounds different than most Les Pauls because it has 3 humbuckers instead of 2. Epiphones i have learned are made with cheap plastic parts. Dont get me wrong, Epiphones are ok, but the one i owned sucked. Others i have played are alright, but none have beat the Gibsons ive played.

man,epiphone,gibson,fender,jackson,whatever man,at the end of the day what matters is how you make it sound ,is how you jam with the guitar ,practice practice practice !!!!

Oyther Epiphone facts:
As long ago as 1959 Sherattons were made in the Gibson Kalamazoo factory in America. In the 1970s Epiphones coming out of the Korean factory had a 'Epiphone made by Gibson' logo - And Gibson was as large on the headstock as Epiphone.

Regardless of whether Epiphones say Gibson on them (and many do) both the Gibson and Epiphone versions say 'Les Paul' on the headstock - In other words both are genuine Les Pauls made by the same company to different price points. Neither is a copy of the other, they are both variations but equally as genuine as each other.I think DCmey is trying to convince himself he didn't do a silly thing paying four times as much for a guitar thats only 10% better :-)

DCmey;
Squires DO say Fender.
And Epiphones generally have Gibson written somewhere on them too.

DCmey, you're wrong again. Squier's say Fender on the headstock. Many Epiphone models say Gibson on the truss rod cover.

DCmey, Once again, you haven't answered my question. Gibson owns Epiphone, right? So does Gibson need to get "authorization" from Gibson??? Use your head, man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you THAT dense??????????????????????????
