No, they fire in a short burst because ammo is limited. It'll run dry in just a few seconds.

each engines fire 4 tons of force rite? so in total the whole airplane has a total of 8 tons of pushing force, excluding the gau-8....cuz i heard the bloody recoil of the gau-8 is 4 tons which should follow on wat u said...which was 9,000lbs of recoil...i have to agree that the breaks can't stop 4 tons of pushing power of the gau-8...more or less it had to be tied down... the dude's got a point thats for sure but lighten up it ain't the end of the world if someone makes a mistake :D

plus the recoil it gives is said to be 4 tons O_O 4 bloody tons.... XD this thing fires at 5,000-6,000 rounds per min rite?.....bloody waste of money lol especially when firing at nth XD
JuggaloTheRolla (July 12, 2008 at 2:15 am)
i thought it was more or so 3000 rpm? aka 50 rp/sec. oh well. And i also read that a depleted uranium round costs like between 15-20 dollars each

3,900 RPM for the GAU-8/A
706d (October 1, 2008 at 10:23 am)
invalidinvalid is right.
the original gau-8 used to be variable between around something like 2,100 rpm (in low) and 4,200 rpm (in high). they set the new gau-8 @ a flat 3,900 rpm
