Fuck Garuda and fuck anyone who has anything to do with that airline.
If you fly with Garuda then you're a fucking idiot. Why risk your life to fly with the worst pilots in the worst planes in the world just to save a few measly dollars?
Fuck you Garuda!

pfft, Garuda is the best Indonesian airline there is! try flying Merpati, or Trigana in Papua! or Adam air for that matter, or do they even exist anymore?

And to finish up... Two examples of flights that include pilot error does not prove your point. You are proving isolated conditions. Think it through, thanks.

Ok guy, you obviously want to argue about something. First of all, you first say that "as a pilot", you look to blame mechanical malfunction first, yet you then admit that human error is usually the cause. 2) On approach and landing, it was found that the plane was traveling twice as fast as it should have been. 3)It was found that the flaps were NOT extended for landing, again indicating pilot error. That's total bull.
bg11215 (November 4, 2008 at 5:41 am)
If the flaps were malfunctioning, then why did the pilot not report it to ATC and declare an emergency, especially considering that he reported one of the thrust reversers not working prior to takeoff? The bottom line is, all indicators point to it being the PILOT'S FAULT. And the examples I gave you were two of the best examples of runway overshoot accidents. I challenge you to find one where it wasn't the pilot's fault.

... and I responded on your post because it was your post that sparked my thought. The thrust reversers may have been MEL-ed as inoperative and flown without. And say what you'd like, but in a competitive hiring market, no airline pilot is hired that wouldn't keep airspeed within flyable limits unless something was drastically wrong with aircraft or conditions. I won't say that the pilots did not err. I will say that their error may be attributable to factors beyond their control.

And to finish up (which I thought I already did but apparently not), why don't you mind your own business? I left a comment, not a question. At least read the posts before leaving an unasked for comment. Think THAT through. THANKS.

You're such a tool. I'm defending myself against your opinion, not "starting something." I can't stand wannabe-internet-badasses like you. Now, I did not "admit" anything. Go read again. You're no logician, stop trying. Most aviation accidents that are noticed are fatalities (which occurs do to pilot error,) but a far larger number of maintenance-related incidents occur. All I've said is that my HOPE is that the fault did not lie with the pilot. Call me an optimist.
