Not surprising. Asians have always been fans of Soul music and all of its genres, especially jazz and blues. When Run DMC stepped off the plane in Tokyo for their first world tour back in the 80s, they were surprised to find a crowd of adoring fans waiting for them at the airport decked out in laceless Adidas, gold chains, and leather jackets.
