One thing I've been wondering lately is in Back to the Future 2 when old Biff goes back to give his younger self the sports almanac why does he pick 1955 when his younger self was only 17? Wouldn't it have made more sense to travel back 4 years later to when he was 21 and old enough to gamble/place bets?
