Even though he's talking shit, they ARE misconstruing his words. The ECONOMY is in crisis but the FUNDAMENTALS are strong. Why is it so fuckin hard to keep that straight? It looks bad when he has to correct them

But take into to consideration, that from their point of view, if these fundamentals were and are so strong then why are we in an economic crisis. Also, if his message were not so ambiguous and up for interpretation; which all candidates, past and present, are guilty of, he would not have to "correct" them.

And what are those fundamentals? Because it looks to me like we're in deep shit.
Tripp393 (November 7, 2008 at 9:06 pm)
But it doesn't matter. The point is that they're failing to differentiate between "fundamentals" and "economy"

You know... the out of context misinterpretation of the American people on McCain's statement just shows how dumb America has become. McCain is NOT saying our economy is strong. He is saying the FUNDAMENTALS of our economy are strong.
It is like saying.... as an EXAMPLE when you build a house. Your fundamental materials needed to build the house are strong. The nails are strong, the wood materials are strong, the paint is good and will last, the pipes are strong, etc. CONTINUED...

CONTINUED ... But the house will only be strong if you put all those fundamental materials together correctly.
If you do a shoddy job of building the house that is not to code, then the house falls apart.
Americans are really stupid. Only the ones that understood McCain are smart.

If by fundamentals he meant the American workforce...why didn't he just state that?
rothofo (September 29, 2008 at 12:59 am)
He's made this statement about the "fundamentals" several times this year. He's trying to avoid saying that times are not good since it's the fault of the incumbent party. George Bush has been saying the same thing. So the other day when he again made this statement, it turned out to be a very stupid thing to say while Wall St. was spiraling downward. However, McCain attempted to cover his ass by lying to everyone with the "American worker" explanation. We're not as stupid he thinks we are.
