The F-86 Sabre was a German Design stolen after Germany was captured by the Allies. If it had flown in the days of WWII the outcome of the war would have been very different. But you're right about a slave never beating a free man...

Well everyone stole from America when the Wright brothers developed the first plane, then when they copied thattechnology they started adding to it their own ideas making them beyond different from the Americans. So with modern equipment Russians have their own ideas for their planes and the Americans have their own ideas for their planes, there is no longer any copying.

Russia never copied from any one they had the first plane ever build..way before the wright bros did. other then that both the USSR and the USA were incredible inventors.

And all I know is that it was Leonardo Da Vinci who gave an extraordinary contribute. Check the so called "Codice del Volo".
It is true that some Russian combat aircraft were based on American designs, but this happened decades ago. More recent designs like the Fulcrum are pretty exclusive.
One example: the MiG-15 was formidable but yet still it wasn't 100% Russian. It was designed and built thanks to research on the German Me-262 design captured by the Red Army and on a British engine.
